Supporting Dementia Friendly Communities

Brecon was the first community in Wales to receive official 'Working to Become Dementia Friendly' recognition from the Alzheimer's Society, and Brecon Rotary Club are committed to supporting the great work being undertaken by Brecon and Hay Dementia Supportive Community.  

We have:

Undertaken Dementia Friends Awareness training

Supported a sensory Garden at Trenewydd Care Home involving pupils from Llanfaes Primary School

Sponsored the production of books for school children explaining about dementia

Helped to raise awareness with businesses in our locality  

Brecon Rotary Club ( Hayley Ridge Evans) giving a presentation about Dementia Friendly Communities at District Conference 2016
